Wipe Out.

Hello, I am a victim of fraud. Through the use of Paypal, a thief went in and jacked me of all my money in as little as an hour. I had to deal with the closing/opening of my bank accounts yesterday. Now I have to deal with waiting on each transaction to post so I can then have the charges reversed. Luckily, every customer service person I talked to was very helpful and apologetic. It should take a week for everything to be back to normal, but it is such an inconvenience.

Check Them Out...

http://www.austinvespaio.com/enoteca/enoteca_brunch_menu.pdf

After failed attempts to eat at Magnolia and Kirbey Lane yesterday, our crew ended up popping into Enoteca on Congress. This place proved to be amazing. Our waiter was very polite, attentive and eager to please our tastes. He informed us that everything is locally grown at the restaurant and mostly organic.
We all took turns eating off each others plates, because everything looked so delicious. My semolina and buttermilk pancakes tasted like corn bread and my boyfriend's caramelized gold potatoes tasted heavenly. If you are ever in the area and looking for a good Sunday brunch without the wait, please check this place out. I want to go back soon to try their lunch/dinner menu and to pick out a pastry from their display.

Good Times.

Had lots of fun with some awesome friends in Austin this weekend. The food was amazing and the weather was beautiful too. Got an unexpected sunburn all over my shoulders and chest, but it was all worth it. I can't wait to go back!

Austin Here I Come!

By this time tomorrow morning, I will be in the Texas capitol city getting ready to spend the day on Lake Travis. We're going to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday and visit some local eateries on Sunday. I have developed a love for Austin after a visit earlier this year. I visited a couple times as a child, but never realized what a truly amazing place this town is. I'm excited!

Crazy for Crave...

This is what I am eating right now and don't care what happens to my body after...well maybe.

Sigh....

If only my millionaire husband was here to buy me this lovely number.

Booty, Booty, Booties, Rocking Everywhere!

I am diggin' this shortened cowboy boot trend. I absolutely love boots and the endless possibilities they carry. I have been reluctant to purchase BUT I can still see myself getting a pair of these to transition, since we still have some cool nights in Texas. Today I looked online and found some cute selections at DSW for as little as 25 bucks!

Weirdness...

With the slow pace of work happening at the office many here are worried. We weathered the storm of the economy last year with new clients and numerous projects, but it seems things have taken a turn. I am guessing that since companies are hurting and taking less in that it would make sense to decrease or even rid of their ad budgets. There is a trend now of hiring in-house and not outsourcing ad agencies that makes me wonder what the ad industry is becoming. With every medium turing digital, businesses are looking for a cheap way to get their message across. It's scary and I can't help but think that things will only get worse before it gets better. Guess we'll see.

Not Your Mama's Tampon

After my recent trip to the grocery store, I noticed the new clever packaging Kotex has unveiled. Not only does their black design stand out amongst the sea of pink, but the actual tampon and pad designs are even more user friendly (if you know what I mean). I even noticed two other women grabbing the new Kotex during the 2 minutes I was in that aisle. Men don't care, but for women this brand is a nice alternative that keeps the target in mind. My only complaint is that they only carry super plus, super and regular...where's the light?

Dinner & Day 2

Dinner: 2 turkey tacos with corn tortilla, avacado, lime and veggies, 1/2 cup chicken broth rice, black beans
Breakfast: whole-wheat english muffin, poached egg (that exploded in the microwave), 1/2 medium grapefruit...YUMMY
On the menu
Lunch: tuna salad with mixed greens, cucumbers, 2 slices tomato, 1 tsp. low fat mayo (not excited about this meal)
Snack: 1 cup watermelon
Snack: carrots and hummus

Plan B

A couple of co-workers and I pooled together and purchased the Brazil Butt Lift program. After a rather pricey visit to the grocery store, I started the 6-day meal plan today to prepare me for the actual workout. So far here is what I think:

Breakfast: Fat Free, Plain Yogurt = Yuck, even with granola...yuck.

Snack: It told me to eat cottage cheese, but ate the left over granola instead.

Lunch: Rotisserie chicken, steamed broccoli and brown rice = good, but could use some lemon juice to spruce up the flavor next time.

Snack: 10 salt free almonds. YUM.

Hopefully this will set the pace for eating healthier foods and trying out new flavors. Stay tuned...

Part of My Demise...

Smashburger

Not only are their burgers amazing, but they have delicious chicken sandwiches as well. Try their Smash Fries (rosemary, olive oil, garlic), they have been voted as one of the best french fries in Houston. I can't stop myself from eating at this place every week.

Waistlines...

After doing the P90 for a month and a half, as well as watching my diet I am frustrated. I have not lost anything and feel like I am getting heavier (the scale confirms this). Am I doing something wrong? I can't explain what is going on and I can't see myself getting into a bathing suit in 2-weeks. Grrr....

Branching Out...

I have been casually house hunting for months, but haven't quite talked myself through the notion that this is really happening. I am scared to death of moving out for I have never lived alone. I mean I had a roommate my freshman year of college, but that was a whole different life experience in itself. I guess I haven't come to grips with actually growing up or having to be away from my family, not seeing them everyday. I am stalling big time on making this purchase. I can't even decide where I want to live. Ideally Houston would be a perfect fit because of the eateries, the convenience and of course the shopping! But then I have always lived in the 'burbs and I am kind of used to the life. I don't know what to do and have soo many fears, plus I don't want my boyfriend making all the decisions for me. Has anyone else felt this way before? Is this all normal? Help.

Reflecting Recap

I am still working out and haven't touched a piece of red meat in over a month. I am proud of myself, but now all I want is a big juicy hamburger on Easter!
